It is unbelievable how much our world has changed in the last two weeks.  I am so thankful we serve a God who is unchanging and is our safe harbour in the middle of the storm.   SPRING BREAK IS HERE!!  We encourage you to take this time to take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, as well as relax in the comfort of your home.

This week our Devon Christian School staff have been working on report cards, preparing educational materials for our students, and doing our best to support families at home.   All staff have been instructed to take the March 28 - April 5, 2020 break to ensure they are well rested and ready to further support our students again on April 6.  This means your family will not receive any schoolwork, assignments, or instruction from Devon Christian School staff next week.

If families are looking for activities over the break, they may want to want to explore Recess Guardian’s active8 Your Home. This is a free daily video service that brings recess right to you! Healthy Together, from Alberta Health Services, is another resource.  It features daily posts about how families can be healthy, active, and safe.   Please remember to help prevent COVID-19 from spreading by following the provincial government's recommendation to:

> Stay home and away from others if sick or in isolation

> Practice good hygiene (washing hands, avoiding touching face, etc.)

> Social distance by keeping at least 6 feet (the length of a bicycle) from others when going out, limiting the number of times you do go out, and washing your hands after touching communal surfaces.

The staff of Devon Christian School are extremely thankful for each member of our DCS Family, especially during this extraordinary time.  You have been incredibly supportive and understanding, and it has not gone unnoticed.  We are here to support you and your family in the coming days.  You are welcome to keep sending your prayer requests over spring break.  We will not take a break from prayer!!  Wishing you all a healthy, safe, and blessed week!!  “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.”  1 Peter 5:7
